If you’ve ever considered installing an inground pool in the Pittsburgh area, you’re at the right place! Swimming is a great form of exercise, a great way to bond with family/ friends, and a great way to end a hot summer day.
When it comes to swimming pool installation Pittsburgh residents have some great options to choose from. Learn even a little bit about pool installation, and you'll see why so many area homeowners recommend it to others.

Fiberglass Pools and Vinyl Liners: Two Options Worth Considering
How an in-ground swimming pool ends up being installed will always depend on the style. Concrete pools that are poured in place, for instance, require a particularly long installation process that includes weeks' worth of drying time. Most homeowners in Pittsburgh today end up choosing swimming pools made from fiberglass or based on vinyl liners. There are certain benefits associated with each, along with a distinctive installation process:
  • Fiberglass pools are formed off-site with the help of large, reusable molds. That can make for an installation that is surprisingly low on mess and disruption, since much of the most important work happens elsewhere. In addition, fiber glass swimming pools tend to last a long time, look, great, and feature a low overall cost of ownership. The installation of a pool made from fiberglass will require some digging, plumbing, and finishing, of course, but will normally be pretty straightforward. It should be noted, though, that homeowners who shop for fiber glass swimming pools are confined to shapes and sizes for which molds are available.
  • Pools with vinyl liners use steel walls for structural strength and concrete collars to keep everything in place. One of the most compelling benefits of vinyl liner swimming pools is that they are especially affordable, with installation costs often being thousands of dollars lower than the in-ground alternatives. Since vinyl liners need to be replaced every five to ten years, total cost of ownership will rise over time, however. The process of installing a pool based on a vinyl liner is a bit more complex than that used to put a fiberglass pool in place. It also generally takes a bit longer. One definite upside is that vinyl liner swimming pools can be customized a lot more freely than fiberglass-based pools made using molds.
